The personal memorabilia that he has placed in the book is reproduced so well, that it seems like you actually have the real things at your disposal. He has no limits to his reach and creativity. I purchased this book with a birthday present gift card. Jones because he is not only a musician and producer, but also, a composer and arranger. I would also recommend the book to young musicians who aspire to greatness, they can get a glimpse of how great a life a musician and a committed humanitarian can have. I was so excited when I purchased the book and I was not disappointed at all. He has embraced and arranged/composed for all musical mediums.
The combination of pictures, writing, and memorabilia help to create an "experience" that goes beyond just reading a bio, or just looking at a coffee table book. It is beyond fabulous. I have several biographies on musicians and this is by far the best one. I am a great admirer of Mr. He defies stereotypes for African American musicians, yet he is quintessentially African American. I highly recommend the book to all fans of Quincy Jones, and to those who want to get a glimpse of how he collaborated with musicians and entertainers across all genres. "Q" is most definitely an American Icon and a national treasure.

The history here is incredible. If you know of and love Quincy jones you will love this book.
The photos are awesome. This book is the most complete rewind of Quincy Jones' life I have seen. Every page has some tidbit of information that the average person didn't know. Apparently this man knows everyone as the pictures, letters and stories tell about in detail. Any music fan should have this because it is not just Q's history but music's history as well.
You can actually retrieve his report card from the music school he attended (need I say he got mostly A's), see the sheet music from "We Are The World" complete every participant's signature, along with Ray Charles' thumbprint. If you love Quincy Jones, you will flip over this book. The personal letters are touching and the photos a trip down memory lane. Q has opened up his life and shares the most amazing collection of memorabilia from his unbelievably exciting life. And the book is interactive. Quincy has met EVERYONE. A truly magnificent coffee table book that will be enjoyed by every generation.
